The Savannah Children's Book Festival was held on
November 15 in Forsyth Park in historic downtown
Savannah.  With more than 20,000 attendees, this
annual events features nationally-known artists,
illustrators, and TV personalities.

Coastal Writers Circle
In addition to national celebrities, Coastal authors
from Georgia and South Carolina were invited.  
With tables surrounding the beautiful fountain in
the park, local authors spent the day talking with
their fans and discussing their books.

Patricia Bee, author of Mama's Pearls and
Try'UmSee's Wings and Beaufort County teacher,
enchanted children with her Gullah tale about a
bumblebee.

Jane Hill from
Salt Marsh Cottage Books welcomed
many students she had met on visits to Chatham
and Effingham County schools, promoting the
Book Festival, discussing her books, and
encouraging children to read.
